Basra Government Focuses on Completing Technical Requirements for Million Housing Unit Initiative


Basra: The First Deputy Governor of Basra, Engineer Zaid Al-Imara, engaged in discussions with Engineer Haitham Sadkhan, the Director of Municipalities in the governorate, regarding the implementation of the Prime Minister’s initiative to distribute one million residential plots.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the First Deputy Governor’s media office released a statement detailing that a meeting took place at the Municipalities Directorate. The meeting focused on following up with the completion of the technical and administrative requirements necessary for the committee responsible for the initiative. The discussions involved a thorough review of the maps of the proposed sites and sectors, assessing the designs and sector boundaries, identifying existing conflicts, and determining solutions in collaboration with relevant sectoral authorities. This was all in preparation for completing the formal procedures associated with the initiative.



The discussions highlighted the necessity of completing the technical and legal requirements within the designated timeframes. This completion is expected to expedite the land allocation procedures, facilitating the implementation of the initiative in the Basra Governorate, which is allocated a share of 135,000 residential plots.
