Baghdad: The Higher Committee for Legislation of the Departments of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities recently deliberated on proposed amendments to the draft laws concerning the Children’s Culture House and the National Music Ensembles.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Culture announced through a press release that Dr. Fadhil Al-Badrani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture for Cultural Affairs, presided over the meeting of the Central Higher Committee for Legislation of the Ministry’s Departments. The session took place in his office and focused on discussing modifications to the draft laws. The meeting was attended by the Ministry’s Legal Advisor, Ayman Nimat, department directors, and representatives from various Ministry departments.
The head of the Higher Committee stressed the necessity of continuing the examination of the two drafts and completing the required amendments. The aim is to establish clear legal and administrative frameworks that will aid in the advancement of cultural and artistic endeavors and improve the efficiency of the Ministry’s departments.
The meeting also reviewed the current regulations and the motivations behind the proposed changes, particularly those associated with regulating the operations of the National Music Ensembles. This includes enhancing their role in showcasing and promoting Iraqi art and musical heritage at both local and international levels.
Furthermore, the committee evaluated the legal and regulatory articles included in the drafts. They focused on refining administrative, financial, and organizational structures, as well as clarifying tasks and responsibilities in alignment with the specific functions of each entity.
