Shams Award for Arabic Content Sees Record Participation in Third Edition


Sharjah: The Shams Award for Arabic Content is now accepting submissions from Arab content creators to compete for its prizes. The third edition of the Shams Award for Arabic Content, organized by Sharjah Media City (Shams), is witnessing a wide turnout from creators and content producers, with over 500 entries. This reflects the growing presence of the award and its expanding reach across the Arab world.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the third edition of the award comes amidst rapid developments in the content creation sector, particularly in production tools, interaction methods, and audience reach, providing creative talents with broader opportunities to showcase their work and experiences. Shams has introduced three new categories this year: Best TV Series Screenwriter, Best Original Score for a TV Series or Film, and Best Creative Advertisement. These are in addition to existing categories such as Short Film, AI Video, Content Creation, Podcasts, and Acting.



Rashid Abdullah Al-Obaid, Director General of Sharjah Media City (Shams), stated that the high level of participation in the third edition reflects the growth of creative talent and potential in the Arab world, and confirms the existence of works capable of competing and making an impact. He added that Shams continues to develop and expand the award to contribute to discovering talent and motivating creators to develop their work. He noted that the introduction of new categories comes within the framework of keeping pace with the developments witnessed in the content creation sector and the diversification of its fields.



Through its third edition, the award seeks to enhance competition in content categories, according to criteria that include the quality of the idea, innovation, cultural and social impact, and artistic and technical excellence. Specialized judging panels will evaluate the submissions and select the winning works according to the approved criteria. The award continues to accept submissions until October 1st, allowing creators, content makers, and media professionals in the Arab world to submit their work and compete in the various categories.
