Basra: The Basra Civil Defense Directorate announced today the removal of quantities of war remnants from several areas of the governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the directorate’s media office stated in a press release: “Our unexploded ordnance disposal teams are continuing their work removing war remnants from the districts of Shatt al-Arab and Abu al-Khasib.”

The statement added that the remnants will be stored later in a secure room, pending their destruction by the relevant authorities, in accordance with established legal procedures.
