Baghdad: The head of the Iraqi Industries Union, Adel Akab, recently convened with the Minister of Electricity, Ali Saadi Wahib, to deliberate on the current state of electricity supply for industrial projects in Iraq. The dialogue focused on the prominent challenges industrialists face, particularly those affecting the continuity of production.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting emphasized the necessity for a stable electricity supply to factories and plants. The discussions highlighted the importance of implementing clear mechanisms to reduce power outages, ensuring continuous production lines, and enhancing the production capacity of industrial projects across the nation.
Adel Akab underscored the critical need to address the hurdles faced by industrialists concerning electricity availability. He advocated for stronger coordination between the Ministry of Electricity and the Iraqi Industries Union to better meet the sector’s demands and support national production efforts.
Minister Ali Saadi Wahib reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to bolstering the industrial sector. He assured that the Ministry would closely monitor the needs of industrial projects and work towards resolving the outlined challenges within the constraints of available resources.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to maintain ongoing coordination between the Ministry of Electricity and the Iraqi Industries Union. This collaboration aims to better serve industrialists, support the national industry, and positively impact the Iraqi economy.
