Baghdad: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has declared that the United States is now searching for a face-saving strategy to exit the region. In a post on the X platform, following his visit to the site of the assassination of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Qassem Soleimani near Baghdad International Airport, Qalibaf expressed his views on the changing dynamics in regional politics.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Qalibaf emphasized that the influence of foreign powers in regional affairs is diminishing rapidly. He highlighted a shift in the regional order, suggesting a decline in foreign interventions. Qalibaf further stated that the Israeli expansionist ambitions have dissipated, referring to the “River to Sea” project as an unattainable dream. He pointed out the ongoing Israeli occupation of significant parts of the Gaza Strip, numerous towns in southern Lebanon, and their military activities in southern Syria.
