Baghdad: The Iraqi Turkmen Front has issued a strong condemnation of the threats directed at Judge Faiq Zaidan, the head of the Supreme Judicial Council, labeling them as unacceptable and a direct assault on the prestige and independence of the judiciary. The Front emphasized that these threats undermine one of the state’s most vital constitutional institutions, which plays a crucial role in safeguarding the law, protecting rights, and upholding justice.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mohammed Saman Agha, the head of the Turkmen Front, expressed in a statement that “the independence of the judiciary and respect for its institutions and symbols are fundamental pillars of state stability and the rule of law.” He stressed that any threat to the judicial authority requires a unified national stance and a decisive rejection of any form of pressure or intimidation.
Agha further reiterated the Front’s unwavering support for the Iraqi judicial institutions and their independence. He expressed confidence in their crucial role in protecting rights and maintaining Iraq’s unity, security, and stability, all in accordance with the constitution and the law.
