Second Meeting Between Iraq and Turkey Focuses on Transport Infrastructure Development


Baghdad: The Iraqi Ministry of Transport held its second joint meeting with its Turkish counterpart regarding the framework memorandum of understanding for developing transport infrastructure in Iraq, at the headquarters of the Iraqi Republic Railways in Baghdad.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry stated in a press release that discussions focused on financial aspects and means of participation with the aim of reaching practical and applicable understandings. Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination to support the development of the transport system in Iraq, particularly railways and the Strategic Development Road project.



Representatives from the Iraqi Ministries of Transport, Oil, Finance, and Foreign Affairs, as well as the design consultant, participated in the meeting, while representatives from the Turkish Ministries of Transport, Infrastructure, Energy and Natural Resources, and Foreign Affairs participated.
