Baghdad: President Nizar Amidi affirmed that the cabinet will be completed soon. Speaking at the eighth Baghdad Dialogue Conference, Amidi said, “We have managed to resolve the three constitutional requirements, and the cabinet will be completed soon.” He added, “The political blocs are keen to complete the cabinet, and indications suggest it will be finalized very soon.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Amidi addressed regional affairs, stating that Iraq is influenced by its regional environment according to its interests, and that the country’s decisions are national. He emphasized Iraq’s commitment to avoiding involvement in wars, noting that Iraq is among the countries most affected by war, after Iran.
Domestically, President Amidi clarified the government’s commitment to addressing security and economic challenges. He highlighted the constitutional mandate that weapons be exclusively held by the state, aligning with calls from the religious authority in Najaf.
Regarding the relations

In another matter, the President announced that there are 14,000 people sentenced to death since 2006 who remain in prisons. He stressed that the issue of executions is a national, constitutional, and legal Iraqi matter, with the Presidency sending files for general amnesty to the judiciary for review.
