Kirkuk: Al-Kitab University in Kirkuk has unveiled a major reduction in tuition fees for members of the Journalists Syndicate branch, specifically for those enrolling in the College of Media. This initiative marks a significant step in fostering collaboration between the academic institution and the journalistic community.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this decision was reached during a meeting between Marwan Ibrahim Al-Ani, head of the Kirkuk branch of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, and Yaqoub Najm Al-Din, chairman of the board and investor of Al-Kitab University. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and coordination between the two entities.

The university has directed a 50% reduction in tuition fees for members of the Journalists Syndicate branch admitted to the College of Media, also extending this benefit to the children of pioneers from the province for the 2026-2027 academic year. Additionally, a 25% reduction in fees will be applicable for syndicate members studying in other university colleges. This measure is aimed at supporting the journalistic community’s work and strengthening ties with the university.

Najm Al-Din also highlighted future plans to coordinate with the Journalists Syndicate branch to secure job opportunities for all young graduates of the College of Media in Kirkuk, as well as other media colleges in the provinces from the 2025-2026 academic year. This initiative seeks to provide employment within the university’s colleges, thereby enhancing graduates’ specialization and contributing to their professional development.
