Baghdad: The Ministry of Education has announced the commencement of applications for the Science Day Awards, detailing nomination requirements for interested candidates. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research stated that the application process for the 2025 Iraqi Science Day Awards is now open and will remain so until Sunday, September 13, 2026.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry is dedicated to fostering excellence across multiple disciplines. They have outlined the categories for the scientific competition along with their respective awards. These include the Outstanding Research Award for work published in an international or local scientific journal, the Outstanding Authored Book Award for methodological or common works, the Outstanding Scientific Journal Award, the Outstanding Graduation Project Award for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, the Outstanding Research Center Award, the Outstanding Research Unit Award, the Outstanding Scientific Society Award, and the Outstanding Sustainable University Award.

The Research and Development Department has clarified that winner selection in categories such as medical sciences, pure sciences, engineering sciences, and agricultural and veterinary sciences will be conducted in partnership with Clarivate. The Ministry has provided a link for participants to access the nomination and competition requirements.
