Baghdad: Paris Saint-Germain began their title defense with a draw against Rennes, with striker Ferran Torres putting on a standout performance. The match between Rennes and their guest Paris Saint-Germain ended in a 2-2 draw today, Sunday, in the first round of the French Ligue 1 football matches.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Sébastien Szymanski opened the scoring for Rennes in the 9th minute, followed by a goal from Esteban Lepoul in the 38th minute, putting the home side in a strong position. However, Paris Saint-Germain’s new signing Ferran Torres showcased his skills by scoring two crucial goals in the 71st and 82nd minutes, ensuring the visitors did not stumble in their opening round. Torres, known for his decisive goal in Spain’s World Cup victory, was instrumental in rescuing the Parisian team from defeat.
