Baghdad: Iraq was the fourth largest destination for Turkish exports during July, with a value of $1.113 billion, according to official data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the institute’s statistics showed that Germany topped the list of countries receiving Turkish exports during July, with a value of $2.042 billion, followed by the United States, and then the United Kingdom. Iraq came in fourth, and Italy fifth, with $1.110 billion. The top five countries accounted for approximately 28.5% of total Turkish exports during July, while Turkey recorded total exports of $25.623 billion, an increase of 2.9% compared to the same month last year.

Exports to Iraq are linked to the rise in Turkey’s overall foreign trade. Imports during July reached $32.966 billion, an increase of 5.1% year-on-year, while the trade deficit reached $7.343 billion, an increase of 13.6%.

The data also highlighted that Turkish exports rose by 3.4% during the first seven months of t
his year, compared to an increase of 4.7% in imports.
