Baghdad:The Parliamentary Finance Committee has announced its backing for Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi’s directive to permanently appoint contract workers and daily-wage employees under the 2027 federal budget.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Committee Chairman Uday Awad expressed commendation for the Prime Minister’s plan, which includes the creation of 120,000 new public-sector job positions. These positions are aimed at providing permanent employment for contract and daily-wage workers as part of the upcoming budget.
Awad highlighted that the new job positions will be allocated fairly across Iraq’s governorates, in proportion to population ratios. An online recruitment platform is set to be established to ensure equal employment opportunities for all applicants. He emphasized that the entire Parliamentary Finance Committee supports the initiative fully and is committed to securing the necessary budget allocations, as well as monitoring the approval process to ensure the directive’s successful implementation.
The initiative is expected to expand employment opportunities for young people and enhance job security and economic stability in Iraq.
