Baghdad: The 27th Baghdad International Book Fair, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, recently hosted notable figures from the Arab entertainment industry, Syrian actor Abbas al-Nouri and Egyptian actor Bayoumi Fouad. The actors engaged in two highly anticipated panel discussions, drawing attention from a large and attentive audience.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the event featured a panel titled “Abbas al-Nouri: The Present and the Past,” moderated by journalist Ahmed al-Shukri. During this session, al-Nouri reflected on his artistic journey and the significant transformations within the drama industry. He emphasized the enduring nature of drama, driven by the creative capacities of the human mind. Al-Nouri also highlighted the critical importance of selecting roles based on their artistic merit rather than succumbing to temporary fame or trends. He underscored the pivotal role of reading and culture amidst the rapid proliferation of content and distractions.

Moreover, al-Nouri expressed a deep connection with Iraq, conveying admiration for its people and stressing the importance of safeguarding the country’s rich cultural and civilizational heritage.

In a separate discussion, Egyptian artist Bayoumi Fouad shared insights into his expansive career in cinema, theater, and television. Moderated by artist Dr. Ihsan Daadoush, Fouad’s session delved into the pivotal moments that have defined his career, followed by an engaging dialogue with the audience. He actively answered questions in an interactive setting, fostering a lively exchange of ideas.

Fouad also took the opportunity to express his affection for Iraq and its citizens, expressing a desire to showcase his artistic talents in Baghdad in the future.
