Zelensky: Talks with US Envoys Are Very Productive

Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Sunday that Ukraine’s talks with US peace negotiators Steve Wittkopf and Jared Kushner were “very fruitful.” Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Zelenskyy highlighted that the discussions covered security and economic guarantees for Ukraine, as well as the supply of missiles for air defense and a winter support package. He also expressed hope for the resumption of trilateral talks involving Ukraine, Russia, and the United States, emphasizing that security guarantees should prevent a recurrence of war and help Ukraine face future challenges.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Zelenskyy mentioned that Wittkopf and Kushner had relaunched the negotiation process after a long hiatus, with efforts underway to resume negotiations at the national security advisor level. He stated, “We discussed Patriot missile systems and Ukraine’s urgent air defense needs. I discussed the winter support package in detail with Wittkopf, Kushner, and our European partners, and we are counting on support that includes air defense, medical assistance, and US liquefied natural gas supplies.”

Zelenskyy further emphasized the importance of economic recovery, stating, “We are discussing a prosperity plan and economic guarantees that will allow Ukraine to recover and rebuild. Our army must remain strong, and this requires clear resources and guarantees.” He reiterated that security guarantees should prevent a recurrence of war and help Ukraine face future challenges.
