Anbar: The Anbar Criminal Court has handed down a death sentence to a man found guilty of drug trafficking.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Supreme Judicial Council released a statement confirming the court’s decision. The convicted individual was found in possession of 3 kilograms and 590 grams of amphetamine. Additionally, authorities seized multiple weapons from the individual, including two rifles, a pistol, a hunting rifle, and an offensive grenade.

The court’s decision was based on the provisions outlined in Article 27/First of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017.
