President Amedi Affirms the Importance of Preserving Religious and Societal Diversity in the Country


Baghdad: President of the Republic Nizar Amedi received a delegation of Sabean Mandaeans, headed by the Prime Minister’s Adviser for Sabean Mandaean Affairs, Bashar Faisal Sabti, at Al-Salam Palace.



According to Iraqi News Agency, the Presidential Media Office stated in a press release that Iraq’s diversity is a cornerstone of its social fabric. President Amedi emphasized the importance of preserving the country’s religious and social diversity and strengthening the values of coexistence and fraternity among its communities. He highlighted that these values are crucial for reinforcing social cohesion and safeguarding the rights of all citizens. The President also underscored the need to address the needs of the Sabean Mandaean community and ensure suitable conditions for them to freely and safely practice their religious rituals and rites.



The delegation expressed its appreciation for President Amedi’s attention to the situation of the Sabean Mandaeans and his commitment to supporting their rights. The members reaffirmed their attachment to Iraq and their continued contribution to building the state and serving society.
