Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq Meets Yemeni Counterpart on Sidelines of Arab League Session


Baghdad: Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met today with the Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Afrah al-Zuba, on the sidelines of the 166th regular session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level. According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that the meeting began with a congratulatory note from Minister Hussein to Minister Al-Zuba on her new role, expressing his hopes for her success in fulfilling her duties.



The meeting focused on bilateral relations between Iraq and Yemen, exploring ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in various fields. Minister Al-Zuba provided a comprehensive briefing on the political and humanitarian situation in Yemen, detailing the ongoing developments and the efforts aimed at supporting de-escalation and fostering opportunities for solutions that promote security and stability in the country.



Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein reiterated his wishes for security and stability for the Yemeni people, emphasizing that stability in Yemen is vital for enhancing the security and stability of the entire region. Minister Al-Zuba expressed the high regard in which Iraq is held by the Yemeni people, highlighting the importance of continued collaboration.



The statement concluded with both sides agreeing to maintain communication and meetings, which will aid in strengthening bilateral relations and aligning positions on issues of shared interest.
