Basra: The head of the Basra Provincial Council, Khalaf al-Badran, has stressed the need for effective storytelling to showcase Basra’s civilizational and cultural heritage to the world. Although the city is rich in tourist attractions, al-Badran believes it requires dedicated efforts to narrate its historical significance and cultural richness.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Badran made these remarks during a ceremony for the distribution of tourist guide certificates. He highlighted that supporting tourist guides is a crucial measure for revitalizing tourism and enhancing Basra’s image as a cultural and tourist destination. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to prepare skilled tourism personnel who can adequately represent Basra’s history and cultural landmarks to visitors, thereby elevating its status on the global stage.
