Baghdad: The government is committed to its approach of combating corruption, and there will be no leniency or favoritism towards corrupt individuals, declared Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi received the head of the “Abshir Ya Iraq” parliamentary bloc, Ali Hatem al-Hasnawi, along with members of the alliance. The meeting focused on addressing crucial issues in the health, electricity, and services sectors, alongside discussions on job creation and agriculture. The attendees explored ways to support these objectives through enhanced coordination between the legislative and executive branches.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to combating corruption, urging members of Parliament to fully utilize their oversight role in backing the government’s reform initiatives. Al-Zaidi also highlighted the importance of enacting necessary laws to fulfill the government’s program, including establishing the Food and Drug Authority.

Moreover, he assured that the government is dedicated to providing financial allocations for vital and strategic projects nearing completion. Efforts to increase budget allocations for paying farmers their dues were also emphasized.

The “Abshir Ya Iraq” bloc expressed their full support for the government’s financial and administrative reform efforts, development initiatives, and anti-corruption measures.
