Baghdad: The 27th Baghdad International Book Fair, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, unveiled an engaging cultural program on Monday. The event brought together a prominent assembly of academics, researchers, artists, and cultural enthusiasts, all eager to partake in the fair’s diverse sessions dedicated to thought, heritage, and art.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the program featured a seminar called “Trade and Economic Culture: How to Create Consumer Awareness in a Reading Society.” This session included human rights advocate Ibtihal Hashim al-Rubaie, who underscored the crucial role of women in shaping societal awareness. Al-Rubaie stressed the pressing need for legislation to empower women and enhance their societal presence.

The fair also hosted a seminar by the Kadhimiya Holy Shrine, facilitated by the Kadhimiya Center for Heritage Revival, titled “The Kadhimiya Holy Shrine Museum: A Journey Among Treasures and Manuscripts.” Furthermore, a dialogue session named “Employment Challenges: Job Opportunities and Building a Professional Future” was conducted to explore job market challenges and the potential for building a professional future.

On its sixth day, the cultural program delved into “Arabic Calligraphy: Between History and Development.” This session, featuring calligraphers Ithhar Al-Baghdadi and Ali Al-Hassani, focused on the historical evolution of Arabic calligraphy and its artistic and cultural importance.
