Baghdad: The head of the Iraqi Bar Association, Ahlam Al-Lami, made a significant visit to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities’ pavilion at the 27th Baghdad International Book Fair. During her visit, Al-Lami explored a variety of the most prominent publications and cultural and intellectual works featured at the fair.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the visit was attended by notable figures including the Director General of the House of Books and Documents, Bariq Raad Alawi, the Director General of Dar Al-Ma’mun for Translation and Publishing, Ishraq Abdul-Adel, and the Ministry’s advisor, Gulshan Kamal. Al-Lami took the opportunity to examine the pavilion’s diverse publications, which highlight the richness of Iraq’s cultural landscape.

Al-Lami expressed her appreciation for the public and media interest at the book fair, noting its significance as an indicator of the renewed interest in literature and culture. She acknowledged the extensive participation of writers, intellectuals, and Arab figures, describing it as a source of pride for Iraq and a testament to Baghdad’s cultural prestige and capability to host major intellectual events.

In her remarks, Al-Lami praised the Ministry of Culture’s efforts in organizing the exhibition and underscored the importance of continuing such events to rejuvenate the cultural scene. She emphasized the role these events play in fostering communication between Iraqi and Arab intellectuals, thereby reinforcing Baghdad’s status as a hub of culture, knowledge, and thought.
