Ministry of Agriculture Supplies Nineveh Governorate with 400,000 Carp Fingerlings


Nineveh: The Ministry of Agriculture has supplied the Nineveh governorate with 400,000 carp fingerlings as part of an ongoing initiative to enhance local fisheries. This marks the third batch of fish fingerlings released under the Million Fingerlings Project, a collaborative effort involving the Department of Animal Resources, the Iraqi Fish Producers Association, and the Nineveh Governorate Agriculture Directorate.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Department of Animal Resources emphasized that this initiative aims to support and develop fisheries, boost fish stocks, and advance the fisheries sector. The project is also intended to increase fish populations in local water bodies and promote productive activities that contribute to sustainable development in both agriculture and livestock sectors. The release was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Environment, and River Police, all working together to bolster fish stocks and support local fishermen.
