Anbar: The Anbar Criminal Court has issued a death sentence for a man found guilty of drug trafficking. The decision underscores the region’s strict enforcement of narcotics laws.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Supreme Judicial Council’s media office highlighted that the convicted individual was apprehended with a significant quantity of illegal substances and weaponry. Specifically, authorities seized three kilograms and 590 grams of amphetamine. Alongside the drugs, law enforcement also confiscated an arsenal comprising two rifles, a pistol, a hunting rifle, and a hand grenade.

The judicial body confirmed that the severe penalty was administered under Article 27/First of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017. This legal framework outlines stringent repercussions for those involved in the narcotics trade, reflecting the country’s ongoing battle against drug-related offenses.
