Al-Aboudi and Kurdistan Democratic Party Deliberate on National Security and Political Unity


Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leadership at his office on Monday. The delegation was spearheaded by Hoshyar Zebari, the head of the party’s leadership center and a member of the Political Bureau’s General Assembly.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Advisory issued a press release highlighting the meeting’s focus on the significance of sustained efforts by national political forces to bolster the government’s work in establishing national institutions that can make independent sovereign decisions. This endeavor is to be supported by aligning with the government’s program. The discussions also covered an array of political and security issues of shared interest.



During the meeting, Al-Aboudi underscored to the delegation the critical importance of unifying ranks to back the government’s comprehensive reform and development agenda. He further stressed the need to enhance relations and maintain cooperation between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region, aiming to benefit all Iraqis and uphold the nation’s stability.



Zebari commended the National Security Advisory’s role as a national institution responsible for formulating national security policy and strategy. He affirmed that the advisory functions with a clear and positive national and professional vision.
