Cairo: The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Nabil Fahmy, has announced the launch of a “renewed Arab agenda” aimed at addressing challenges, fostering development, and advancing progress to strengthen Arab initiatives amidst the region’s rapid transformations and turmoil.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during his address at the 166th session of the League Council, Fahmy unveiled several initiatives to enhance the League’s performance. These initiatives include the establishment of a center of excellence, an advisory council, and the appointment of special envoys.

Fahmy highlighted that the Palestinian cause remains a priority for the League. He announced the launch of a unified Arab mechanism to monitor and document Israeli violations, emphasizing the importance of this issue in the renewed agenda.

He also stressed that Gulf security is a crucial component of Arab national security. Fahmy reaffirmed the League’s support for the unity and sovereignty of Arab states, underscoring the importance of solidarity in the region.

In addition to political initiatives, Fahmy called for practical projects focusing on food and water security, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. He also mentioned plans to restructure the General Secretariat and streamline its resources to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
