Baghdad: Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Hebat al-Halbousi, and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmus, co-chaired joint talks between their respective parliamentary delegations in Ankara on Tuesday.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the Iraqi Parliament Speaker’s media office stated in a press release that the talks addressed several issues of mutual interest, including strengthening parliamentary cooperation, activating friendship committees, and developing cooperation and coordinating positions in international forums on matters of common concern.
The statement noted that the discussions also covered several other issues of mutual interest, including the Strategic Development Road project, as well as matters related to the oil, water, energy, security, counterterrorism, trade, investment, and joint development projects between the two countries.
According to the statement, both sides emphasized the importance of continuing dialogue and coordination between the two parliaments, supporting joint agreements and understandings, and following up on their implementation to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two countries.
