Khanaqin: Three suspects, including two foreign nationals, were arrested in Khanaqin, Diyala, during a security operation for possession of narcotics. A joint security force comprised of the Diyala Police and detachments from the Directorate of Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances conducted the operation in Khanaqin district, located northeast of Baquba, the provincial capital.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the suspects were found with 1.65 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. Legal measures were promptly taken against them under Article 28 of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law. The suspects are currently detained as investigations continue to unfold.
The security source further highlighted that authorities are intensifying efforts to track down drug traffickers and dealers. The operations aim to eliminate sources of narcotics and to take decisive action against anyone attempting to smuggle or distribute these substances within Diyala province.
