Mask Leads to Quick Arrest of Suspects in Basra Theft Case


Basra: Within 72 hours, a mask led to the arrest of three suspects in a theft case in Basra. Basra police arrested the trio shortly after a robbery occurred in the Al-Shuhada neighborhood of Al-Zubair district.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Basra Governorate Police Command announced in a press release that the Al-Zubair Anti-Crime Division had initiated an investigation immediately following the robbery at a local market. Officers began by gathering information, reviewing surveillance footage, and following all leads to identify the criminals involved.



The investigation took a significant turn when attention was directed towards a mask worn by one of the robbers. The individual was later spotted wearing the same mask in a live broadcast on a social media platform. This discovery was instrumental in identifying the suspect and linking him to the other members of the group.



The press release further detailed that with the completion of the investigation and the correlation of evidence, all three suspects were apprehended within 72 hours of the robbery. The operation concluded with their capture, detention, and the initiation of legal proceedings against them.
