Erbil: Ammar al-Hakim, head of the National State Forces Alliance, underscored the need to complete the government cabinet and ensure the inclusion of all Iraqi communities in the political process during his visit to Erbil.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim met with key figures during his visit, including Masoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party; Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region; and Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government. He extended condolences for the passing of Sheikh Abdul Wahid Ibrahim Sheikh Abdul Salam Barzani, a distinguished member of the Barzani family.
Al-Hakim also engaged with the Kurdistan Justice Group leader, Sheikh Ali Bapir, and the Kurdistan Islamic Union Secretary-General, Salahaddin Muhammad Bahaaddin. His visit included the Christian community, where he met representatives at the Patriarchate of the Assyrian Church of the East and visited the Aziz Naqshbandi Mosque. He concluded his day at the guesthouse of Sheikh Ali Agha al-Awziri.
Reflecting on the historical ties between his family and the Kurdish people, particularly the Barzani family, al-Hakim highlighted the importance of maintaining and strengthening these connections. He advocated for completing the government cabinet, ensuring representation of all Iraqi components in politics, and continued dialogue among political blocs to address crises. He emphasized adherence to the constitution and law as the basis for resolving disputes.
Al-Hakim advocated for restricting weapons to state control through dialogue and understanding, and emphasized combating corruption and recovering public funds. He called for national unity to address the economic crisis by diversifying income sources and expanding oil export outlets.
Furthermore, al-Hakim highlighted the importance of Iraqi components, including the Christian community, as an enriching element of Iraqi culture. He stressed the need for restoring regional stability and ending ongoing conflicts in the region.
