Baghdad: Lieutenant General Abdul Amir al-Shammari, Director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, chaired a significant meeting to discuss the security situation in Nineveh and the strategic transfer of security responsibilities in city centers to the Ministry of Interior.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Security Media Cell issued a press release stating that the meeting resulted in the approval of several important recommendations by Lieutenant General al-Shammari. These recommendations are aimed at ensuring the successful completion of the planned transfer of security responsibilities, providing essential conditions for this crucial transition. During the meeting, al-Shammari listened to various interventions from security commanders, emphasizing collaborative efforts.
The meeting gathered key figures including the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Interior for Police and Intelligence Affairs, the Senior Secretary of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Undersecretaries of the Intelligence and National Security Services, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army for Operations, the Director of Operations for the Ministry of Interior, and the Commander of the Ground Forces. A representative of the Popular Mobilization Forces and other agencies within the Office of the Commander-in-Chief were also in attendance.
Furthermore, the Nineveh and Western Nineveh Operations Commands contributed to the discussions via video conference, highlighting the comprehensive approach to addressing the security challenges in the region.
