Diyala Acquires First Device for Measuring Non-Ionizing Radiation


Diyala: The first device for measuring non-ionizing radiation has arrived in Diyala. Diyala Governor Adnan al-Shammari announced the arrival of the first specialized device for measuring non-ionizing radiation in the province, as part of a joint cooperation agreement with Asiacell. This aims to enhance inspection and monitoring procedures for the frequencies used in the company’s telecommunications towers within the province.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the governor informed a correspondent: “This device represents an important step in monitoring and measuring levels of non-ionizing radiation and frequencies emitted from telecommunications towers, contributing to improved technical oversight and reassuring citizens that emission levels comply with approved standards and regulations.”



He further stated: “This cooperation aligns with the Diyala local government’s commitment to supporting the use of modern equipment and technologies in inspection and measurement processes, and to strengthening coordination with telecommunications companies and relevant authorities to achieve the public interest and protect the safety of citizens and the environment.”
