Kut: A number of farmers in Wasit Governorate blocked the ring road in Kut city today using agricultural tractors to demand the disbursement of their financial dues, a reduction in the price of kerosene, and an expansion of the agricultural plan.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, several protesting farmers expressed that the high price of kerosene and the delay in receiving their payments are placing a heavy burden on them. They called on the relevant authorities to take urgent measures to address these problems and ensure the continuation of agricultural activity in the governorate.

The farmers further stated that their demands also include increasing the areas covered by the agricultural plan to better meet the needs of farmers and the conditions of the agricultural sector in Wasit.
