Basra Agriculture Exhibition Highlights Al-Madina District’s Local Produce


Basra: The Basra Agriculture Directorate, through the City Agriculture Division, recently held its annual agricultural exhibition in the Al-Madina district, featuring a wide array of local produce. The event saw participation from numerous farmers and producers and was attended by the Deputy Governor of Basra for Agricultural Affairs, Hassan Al-Najjar.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Najjar emphasized that the exhibition serves as a platform to display the agricultural and livestock potential of the Al-Madina district. It aims to support local products, encourage farmers and producers, and highlight the availability of these products in local markets.



Al-Najjar praised the efforts of the Basra Agriculture Directorate and the City Agriculture Division in organizing the exhibition. He noted that the exhibits showcased the diversity of crops and local agricultural production, thereby strengthening the presence of local products in the market.



The exhibition included the distribution of agricultural vehicles and equipment provided by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This initiative aims to support farmers and enhance their production capacities.



A variety of agricultural and livestock products were on display, reflecting the extensive agricultural activities and the potential of the Al-Madina district. The event was organized by the city’s agricultural division and its technical and administrative staff, under the supervision of division head Alaa Al-Jazaeri, to support farmers, highlight agricultural and livestock activities, and foster cooperation with supporting organizations in the agricultural sector.
