Iraqi Football Association President Engages FIFA in Coaching Development Talks


Baghdad: The President of the Iraqi Football Association, Younis Mahmoud, engaged in discussions with Ars¨ne Wenger, Head of Global Football Development at FIFA, focusing on the development of coaching and technical staff in Iraq.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting, which took place at FIFA headquarters, was part of Mahmoud’s ongoing efforts to enhance the capabilities of the Iraqi Football Association’s technical committee. The discussions covered plans for workshops and field training opportunities aimed at improving technical work within the association.



The discussions also resulted in an agreement to activate and implement these initiatives. This coincides with a scheduled visit to Baghdad by FIFA Middle East office staff members Issam Subhi and Hassan Hassan, alongside several specialists and technicians, to discuss cooperation mechanisms further.



The meeting is part of continuous efforts following previous discussions between the President of the Iraqi Football Association and the President of FIFA, focusing on enhancing both administrative and technical capacities within the Iraqi Federation and strengthening collaboration with FIFA.
