Baghdad: Iraqi Football Association (IFA) President Younis Mahmoud and FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development, Ars¨ne Wenger, discussed the development of coaching and technical staff in Iraq on Friday.

According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Football Association revealed that IFA President Younis Mahmoud met with FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development, Ars¨ne Wenger, during a visit to FIFA headquarters. The meeting addressed several issues regarding the development of coaching and technical staff, as well as the organization of workshops and field placements for members of the IFA’s technical committee. These initiatives aim to enhance their capabilities and elevate the standard of technical operations.

The statement indicated that the two sides agreed to activate these matters and put them into effect, coinciding with a visit to Baghdad by FIFA Middle East office staff members Essam Sobhi and Hassan Hassan, accompanied by a team of specialists and technical experts to discuss mechanisms for cooperation and the development of technical and coaching personnel.

The statement added that the meeting follows up on discussions held between the President of the Iraqi Football Association and the President of FIFA, which focused on ways to develop the Iraqi Football Association’s administrative and technical staff and to strengthen cooperation with FIFA in this regard.
