Baghdad: The Parliamentary Education Committee has taken a significant step by formally requesting a written parliamentary question to the Minister of Education concerning the recent initiative inviting parents and capable individuals to donate to schools. This inquiry aims to understand the legal framework, the methods for handling the donations, and the rationale behind seeking contributions from citizens despite the constitutional guarantee of free education for all Iraqis under Article (34/Second).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the committee has also reached out to the Federal Board of Supreme Audit to examine the situation. The board has been tasked with auditing the financial and administrative processes associated with this initiative, ensuring that there is no potential for corruption or misuse of funds within educational institutions.
