Ministry of Interior Terminates Security Guards After Incident Near Baghdad University


Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior has announced the termination of services for two security guards involved in an incident near a private university in Baghdad, with arrest warrants issued against them.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior disclosed details surrounding a video clip depicting the incident involving members of a private security company in central Baghdad. The ministry confirmed that the company is officially licensed by them. An argument arose between the individual filming the incident and the guards, during which, according to the guards, insults and verbal abuse were exchanged.



Following a review of the video and an investigation at the scene, the security company’s management took action by terminating the services of the guards captured in the video. The Ministry’s statement also mentioned that judicial approvals have been obtained to arrest the two security personnel and seize the weapon seen in the video.
