Riyadh: The Saudi Foreign Ministry has expressed its support for the Iraqi government’s initiatives aimed at preventing attacks against the Kingdom. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirmed its backing of Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zubaidi’s efforts in response to the recent targeting of the East-West pipeline in the Riyadh and Medina regions.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release condemning the attack, which involved several drones and resulted in casualties and damage that is currently being addressed. The statement emphasized the Kingdom’s decision to support Iraq after a request from the Iraqi Prime Minister to allow the Iraqi government the necessary space to implement measures to prevent further attacks from Iraqi territory against Saudi Arabia and its neighbors.
The Saudi government highlighted its right to take all necessary measures to ensure the protection of its sovereignty, security, facilities, citizens, and residents, while choosing not to respond immediately to the recent attacks.
