Baghdad: Recently published by Dar Al-Ma’mun for Translation and Publishing, under the supervision of the Director General, Ishraq Abdul-Adel, is the book “Baghdad in the Memory of Orientalists,” by Louis Massignon and others, translated from French by Abdul-Latif Al-Mousawi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the book, comprising 153 pages in a large format, presents selections from the writings of Orientalists and researchers who addressed Baghdad from historical, cultural, architectural, and social perspectives, as well as its dialects. It combines historical narrative with analysis and description, allowing the reader and researcher to explore the image of Baghdad in Western writings and its transformations through different periods.

The publication of this book is part of Dar Al-Ma’mun’s efforts to enrich the Arabic library with intellectual and literary resources, to reread the history of Baghdad from diverse angles and sources, and to strengthen the role of translation as a bridge for cultural communication between peoples.
