Diwaniyah: Farmers and peasants in Diwaniyah have gathered to demand the release of compensation payments crucial for sustaining their agricultural activities. Dozens of farmers from the Al-Shafi’iyah district, located to the west of Diwaniyah Governorate, organized a demonstration to advocate for immediate support in the agricultural sector and the prompt disbursement of financial compensation owed to them.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the demonstrators emphasized the necessity for the government to reduce fuel prices to alleviate the financial burden on the agricultural community. The protestors’ demands were formally received by Imad Al-Shibli, the First Deputy Governor of Diwaniyah, who assured them that these issues would be presented to the central government for further action.
