Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre is currently accepting applications for its “Spotlight on Copyright” translation project, with the registration deadline set for September 25th, 2026. This initiative aims to bolster the translation of content to and from Arabic, as well as encourage the conversion of books into digital and audio formats, while emphasizing the importance of copyright respect.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the “Spotlight on Copyright” program is designed to foster collaboration between Arab and international publishers by funding translation projects. This effort is expected to enhance access to both Arabic and international content of higher quality. With the upcoming 35th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, an increase in grant applications is anticipated, underscoring the Centre’s role in cultivating a sustainable publishing environment. The program serves as a conduit for connecting publishers and expanding avenues for knowledge exchange across languages and cultures.

The program supports the Centre’s strategic goals of expanding the reach of Arabic content to new markets and enhancing the publishing and translation ecosystem. Since its inception in 2009, the program has seen significant achievements, having published approximately 1,390 translated works across various disciplines, including children’s literature, science, history, and social sciences. It has also established strong partnerships with leading global publishing houses, thereby boosting the international presence of Arabic culture and enriching the Arabic library with quality translated content.
