Baghdad: Major General Miqdad Miri, head of the Department of Relations and Media at the Ministry of Interior, announced that the ministry has heightened its readiness in preparation for the upcoming academic year. This initiative involves the development of a comprehensive security, traffic, and organizational plan to ensure a safe environment for students and teaching staff, as well as to maintain smooth traffic flow.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the plan includes deploying thousands of security and traffic patrols and increasing the presence of traffic police near schools, universities, intersections, and main roads. This is especially crucial during peak hours and times when students arrive at or leave schools. The plan also seeks to regulate vehicle movement, reduce traffic congestion, and address haphazard parking situations in front of educational institutions.

Major General Miri stated that the Ministry of Interior will strengthen its security presence around schools and educational institutions by deploying patrols, monitoring surrounding areas, and responding promptly to any situation that may impact student safety or traffic flow. The plan was developed in coordination with relevant departments within the Ministry and will involve a wide-ranging field deployment starting from the first hours of the academic year. Ensuring the safety and secure arrival and return of students to their schools remains a top priority for the Ministry of Interior.
