Baghdad: Within the first seven months of 2026, Iraq emerged as the seventh largest importer of Turkish goods, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Monday. The institute reported that Turkish exports to Iraq were valued at approximately $6.08 billion, marking a 7.8% decrease compared to the $6.59 billion recorded during the same period in 2025.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the data also highlighted that Germany was Turkey’s top export destination during this period, with exports valued at $13.29 billion. Following Germany were the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, France, and Spain, with Iraq securing the seventh position in the list of Turkey’s largest export markets.

In July 2026, Turkish exports to Iraq saw a significant rise, increasing by 15.5% to approximately $1.11 billion, compared to $963.4 million in July 2025. This surge placed Iraq as the fourth largest export destination for Turkey in that month, following Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
