Baghdad: The Ministry of Justice announced the discovery of forgery and illegal transfer of ownership of properties belonging to associates of the former regime in Salah al-Din Governorate dating back to 2007.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the ministry revealed that the Real Estate Registration Department uncovered a number of properties in Salah al-Din Governorate that had been illegally transferred through forged transactions. This discovery is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to monitor and audit property records to ensure the protection of property rights.
The statement also mentioned that Minister of Justice Khalid Shawani has directed the implementation of necessary legal measures regarding these violations. Those involved in the forgery operations have been referred to the competent judicial authorities to face legal action in accordance with the law.
The ministry affirmed its commitment to continue pursuing cases of manipulation and forgery in real estate transactions. It reiterated its dedication to taking legal action against anyone proven to be involved in such activities, to ensure the protection of real estate ownership and the integrity of official records.
