Berlin: Prime Minister Ali al-Zubaidi is currently in the German capital, where he is engaged in pivotal discussions with German officials. These talks are expected to culminate in the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding in the economic and investment sectors, aimed at strengthening the partnership between Iraq and Germany.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the visit marks a significant step in the Iraqi government’s strategy to expand economic relations with international entities and attract foreign investment into critical sectors. The government is keen on leveraging German expertise and technology to support Iraq’s development.

The agency further mentioned that the discussions will explore opportunities for collaboration in various fields, including energy, industry, infrastructure, transportation, water, and services. Additionally, there is a focus on developing the private sector and enhancing the involvement of German companies in strategic projects within Iraq.

It was also highlighted that the agreements are set to open new avenues for German investments and support the execution of economically viable development projects. This aligns with the Iraqi government’s objective of diversifying its economy and reducing reliance on oil revenues.
