Baghdad: On International Democracy Day, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Farhad Atroushi called for a renewed commitment to the democratic process and the achievement of justice that guarantees the protection of the rights of all components of Iraqi society. In a statement issued on the occasion of the International Day of Democracy, which falls on Tuesday, Atroushi emphasized the need to reaffirm the commitment to the democratic path and adopt a strategic national vision as a firm national choice and a fundamental pillar for building a state of citizenship and institutions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Atroushi stressed the necessity of consolidating human values, the concepts of freedoms, and the democratic experience in Iraq. He highlighted the importance of implementing human rights principles and achieving justice to ensure the protection of the constitutional rights of all components of the Iraqi people. Atroushi also pointed to the critical role of national partnership in governing the state and political decision-making. He underscored the need for balance and consensus in the political process to achieve lasting stability in the country.
