Najaf: The Al-Alawi Shrine is putting the final touches on preparations to celebrate the thousandth anniversary of the founding of the religious seminary in Najaf. The Holy Shrine of Imam Ali has announced the completion of its preparations for hosting the grand ceremony announcing the launch of the “Millennium of the Blessed Seminary” project in Najaf.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Jafar al-Budairi, Assistant Head of the Media Department, stated that the preparatory committee met today to finalize arrangements for the grand ceremony, which is scheduled to take place tomorrow evening at the shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him). A large gathering of seminary scholars from various Islamic countries is expected to attend.

Al-Budairi added that the ceremony will be held under the title: “In Loyalty to a Thousand Years During Which Najaf Carried the Banner of Knowledge, and Inaugurating an Era That Connects the Heritage to the Future.”
