Washington:The United States has started importing crude oil from Iraq again, after a temporary cessation the week before.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, data from the US Energy Information Administration indicated that last week, the US imported an average of 51,000 barrels per day (bpd) of Iraqi crude oil. This marks an increase from the previous week when there were no imports from Iraq.

Overall, the average volume of US crude oil imports from ten major countries last week was 4.949 million bpd. This represents a decline of 1.488 million bpd compared to the preceding week, when the average was 6.437 million bpd.

The US Energy Information Administration also reported that the majority of US oil imports last week were sourced from Canada. Other significant contributors included Venezuela, Brazil, and Mexico, with varying import volumes from Guyana, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Colombia, and Nigeria.
